![]() Welcome to all of the Wandering Troubadors! This web page has been created to promote the results of the project as well as give power to future cooperation."Wandering Troubadors" was created by 3 organizations: PINK TOOL from Estonia Schulreferat der Landeshauptstadt München Gminny Ośrodek Kultury w Dywitach Took place In beautiful Camping Dywity, In August 2007. The young participants brought with them trainers experienced in many aspects of theatre and performance. The workshops included work on physical movement, special awareness, pantomime technique and voice-work. The Troubadors also learned techniques for creating burning sculptures and ancient musical instruments. Further workshops included work about Tolerance and Anti-Racism. The stories and songs exchanged revealed common themes which allowed the Troubadors to create tales, new yet old, and for one glorious evening, beneath the fiery sculptures, present images of mystical figures, travelling shamans, devils, ghosts, witches, merfolk and ancient gods.
The aim of the "Wandering Troubadors" project was to promote contact and communication between young people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds, by creating mixed groups of young people from Estonia, Germany and Poland the project encouraged participants to communicate and discuss the creation of a theatre performance, using a wide variety of techniques, introduced and taught by professional trainers. The young people were able to bring their own experiences, as well as new techniques, into the creation of the work. They were able to share common interests and learn new things and make new friends. The rural setting of the project, in North Poland, allowed participants to experience beautiful nature, perhaps a welcome experience for those participants from urban backgrounds. Each group also presented a national evening. Participants brought songs and stories from their own region to use in the show, allowing those from other countries to experience and learn about different cultures, encouraging them to challenge and break perceived stereotypes of East vs West and build a chance for future communication and cooperation. The performance also allowed the local population to meet and experience other cultures. Future cooperation will include the creation of this website, based on the project results, with message boards, photos and contributions by the young participants. |
